Renovating the studio: part 7

The new construction got up to the lintels today – the ring beam should be tomorrow, once the cement has set and can take the weight without settling.

The overall height won’t be much more than it is now; the top row of bricks is the last row before any ring beam and roof joists. The “building up” photo confirms that putting a skylight in the roof will help with getting the space well lit with natural light.

Door will be 2.1m x 0.9m, a “standard” door. Window will be 1.1m x 2m, which should have left enough room for the breaker panel that’ll have to go in to provide power control in the space. We’re looking to be on target for the roof being in place (and weather sealed, but not finished) by end of day Friday.
