Adding a VegTrug to the garden

Last year was the first year of trying to grow my own veg in the back garden. As it’s bricked, everything had to be in bags or pots. This worked out reasonably well, and let me experiment before installing a raised bed. Thus, this year I’ve bought a VegTrug medium as a foray into something larger than a pot, and easier to work with than a traditional raised bed.

Construction wasn’t too hard, certainly no more than an hour, including the time to dismantle something I did wrong. An impact driver, used in a controlled manner, made driving the 60+ screws pretty easy.

Now I just need about 400 litres of soil and compost!

Just about everything was cardboard or paper wrapped; the liner was the only thing in a plastic bag, and it’s one I can’t recycle.
