I needed to check all the sails on Blue Opal this evening, just to be happy that everything was rigged correctly. The wrong sheet was on the genoa, so that had to be dropped and fixed, and then my attention turned to the main.
It was a bit of a surprise when the zip handle came off in my hand – the loop that’s captive in the zipper body had shrunk, and just came right out. A bit of line, and some whipping, and I’ve got a replacement.
Will see how it goes, and if it doesn’t work well, I’ll try something like a chain sinnet instead.
