Greystones and back
The GPS logger was turned on for the trip to Greystones and back, and after a bit of searching I found http://mygpsfiles.com/app/. It ingests the GPX file from my logger, and can animate the resulting course, complete with the speed in knots.

The damaged stanchion base / toe rail after meeting a RIB on the mooring.

Slipping out
Slipping the mooring today to go sailing, plus a bit of a view of the harbour that I’m moored in. Note, contains swearing when I realise I forgot to ease the topping life (dolt) and when my ancient winches do what they reliably do – cause riding turns.

Ebbing tide and Dalkey Island
I won’t say becalmed, but most of my speed comes from the ebbing tide in this video.

Summer sun
As I was coming back from Killiney Bay today, one of the ferries heading for Dublin started blowing his horn. Turns out a speedboat crossed his bow, surfing on his bow wave. Idiots. Lovely day for a sail.
