Slipping out
Slipping the mooring today to go sailing, plus a bit of a view of the harbour that I’m moored in. Note, contains swearing when I realise I forgot to ease the topping life (dolt) and when my ancient winches do what they reliably do – cause riding turns.

Ebbing tide and Dalkey Island
I won’t say becalmed, but most of my speed comes from the ebbing tide in this video.

Summer sun
As I was coming back from Killiney Bay today, one of the ferries heading for Dublin started blowing his horn. Turns out a speedboat crossed his bow, surfing on his bow wave. Idiots. Lovely day for a sail.

Sun is shining, weather is sweet
A lovely, lovely afternoon for some single-handed sailing, accompanied by First Mate Gor (good old rope).

A little more Sunday sailing
A bit more footage from today’s sailing. As Neil Gaiman would say, “warning, contains me”. Also contains a bit of radio chatter with the Dublin Coast Guard (not with me).

Sunday sailing
Pottering around, doing 5 – 6 knots (according to the GPS). The camera adds some curve to the roller reefing, but some more tension is needed on the backstay.
