IPP doesn't work at all, always muttering about a bad client request (client-error-bad-request to be precise). C'est la vie. Install Dell drivers on Windows (2003) server. Share printer. From the Linux PC, add the printer as a raw printer. Profit!? Works suprisingly well, complete with the need to print as A4, not letter :) Found a way to make a Dell 1600n print from Linux.
