UberCon V is just 2 days away now, and I won’t be there. Granted, I didn’t make it to UberCon II either, but that doesn’t make me any happier. I suppose I can take solace in the fact that I won’t be spending 16+ hours in an airplane and working like an absolute maniac for 4 days. In the meantime, as CTO and chief electronic madness guru, I get to worry about whether everything is working, how we’re going to improve the online scheduler for the next con in October and how we can better integrate with Dave’s app server CONGO.

Mad ideas are floating around, including perhaps adding an UberCon blog where we can list our successes (to keep people interested in the con as we ramp up for the next one), an RSS feed or similar for new events, flipping the entire signup model so that you have to know your UberID before you can purchase attendance to the next con and more. Of course, I’ll need to invent the time machine first so that I have enough time to do all of this (even with the ever-so-capable Rob assisting, it’s a ton of work). Ah well, we’ll get there. One day.
